George Savvides appointed as Chairperson of Kings

The Kings Group would like to officially announce the appointment of Mr. George Savvides Chairman of the Board of Directors. He will assume responsibilities from April 2016. 

Mr. Savvides has recently retired as Managing Director of Medibank Private and we are excited to have a person of his calibre and expertise join our Board.

He holds a resume detailing many years of successful results in both the healthcare and manufacturing industries. He has successfully led two IPO’s resulting in ASX Listing since 1999. One being the second largest in Australia’s history.

He holds an Honors Degree in Engineering from UNSW, an MBA from UTS and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Mr Savvides is currently a Board Member of NZX Listed Ryman Healthcare and is also the Chairman of World Vision Australia.

Mr. Savvides said “I was delighted to accept the invitation to take up the Chairmanship of the Kings Group due to the quality of the company and the significant potential for growth and innovation in supply chain services”

Mr. Savvides announcement comes at a pivotal time for the Kings Group with a refreshed Board that will provide governance to the Kings Group alongside newly appointed CEO Tony Mellick. The new Board includes a combination of senior executives including former CEO and now non-executive Director, Stephen Cleary, Founder Mike Shannon, Neil Flavel and Peter Jorgensen.
