Kings Transport & Logistics commit to electric truck future with SEA Automotive



Kings Transport & Logistics and SEA Automotive are pleased to announce that their two companies have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding for the supply of a range of SEA’s commercial Electric Vehicles.

Under the terms of the MoU, Kings Transport & Logistics (Kings) will provide orders for nine Electric Vehicles (EVs) comprising:

·         3 SEA Volta 15t GVM Electric Trucks

·         3 SEA Sturgeon 10t GVM Electric Trucks

·         3 SEA Musk Electric Light Vans

Kings will also work closely with SEA providing advice and assistance to optimise local content, specifications and cab configurations to deliver the most suitable product for their needs and the broader Australian and New Zealand market.

SEA Automotive Executive Chairman, Mr Tony Fairweather said, “SEA Automotive welcomes the opportunity to work closely with an industry leader with King’s vision in bringing our commercial Electric Vehicles to the Australian and New Zealand markets. Commercial Electric Vehicles are now economically and operationally viable alternatives to conventional, diesel powered trucks. Continuing improvements in battery and EV technology cost and performance will only extend EV cost and environmental advantages into the future. SEA looks forward to King’s immense experience assisting SEA in finalising our vehicle specifications,” said Mr Fairweather.

“Over the next 12 months, Kings will work with our Customers and SEA Automotive to confirm the scale of the opportunity to replace, where appropriate, our current company owned fleet with EVs. We will also explore with our 1500 contractors and SEA proposals to simultaneously introduce EVs into our contractor fleet,” said Mr Mellick.

SEA Automotive is an Australian owned and operated company that manufactures and markets zero-emission commercial electric vehicles that are designed to be a superior-performing alternative to traditional diesel trucks due to higher efficiency and lower total cost of ownership.
